To add widgets to your dashboard, you first need to log into your account and click on the “Dashboard” tab on the top left corner of your screen.
The icons on the top of the page are self-explanatory: refresh, new, edit, move up, move down, make public and delete.
There are five different types of widgets:
- task/item chart,
- project portfolio,
- and project changes.
To create a new widget, simply click « New», select one of the five choices and follow the steps of the wizard.
Use your existing searches to create a widget that will display a series of items that are already returned by a search.
Select the search for which you want to add a grid widget to the dashboard.
Select the custom fields you want to view in the grid widget.
If you select a date or date/time field, you can click on the calendar and see your tasks/items in a monthly calendar view.
Task/Item Chart widget
Use this widget to view a chart that breaks down the tasks or items in a project according to their value in a checkbox, a dropdown or a user list field. This widget will show you the values in a pie or bar chart.
Select the project for which you want to add a chart widget to the dashboard.
Select one of the suggested fields to create a chart.
This is the step where you can customize your chart. The wizard will automatically give your widget a name but you can change it. You can add a description of the chart. Select the type of chart you want, pie or bar. The chart series will automatically be in the data universe according to the field you chose.
Project Portfolio widget
Use this widget to view aggregated information on the tasks or items in a series of projects. You need more than one project from a specific application to use this widget.
Select the application for which you want to view projects.
Enter the search criteria to select which projects to display in the projects widget. Leave the search criteria empty to display all projects.
Select the project custom fields you want to view in the projects widget. I like to select at least the project name.
Select a field used to display aggregated information on the projects’ tasks or items.
Use this widget to view your items and projects reminders for today, future 10 days and passed 10 days. Simply select this widget and click “finish”.
Use this widget to view the tasks or items that were created or modified in a project in the last 5 days, and to view the changes made to the project’s information in the last 5 days.
All you have to do is to select the project for which you want to monitor for changes.
