What I Wish I Knew Two Years Ago About Online Database Software

When I joined TGMT Systems’ team a few years back, let’s be honest, I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. I have always been interested in technology but my background is far from it. It took me a few months to overcome my preconceptions but now, I couldn’t go back. Here is a few things I learned along the way that I wish I knew when I first started.

Managing your business data saves you time

Knowing where you stand with your business is vital to your success. If you are not managing your data or if you are not managing it in a proper way, you are most likely loosing time.

Stop wasting time on meetings

With an online database software, you assign the tasks, contracts or whatever you are dealing with as you go instead of having folders pile up on the manager’s desk until the next assignment meeting. You can also forget about the status meeting if you make good use of the report feature. I’m not saying that you should forget all together about doing meetings but let’s just say that less is more. Make better use of your time. How many prospects did you call today?

Expand your memory

Do you ever forget a name, a phone number or the renewal date on a contract? Don’t ever forget anything again. If you keep a trace of it in the cloud, you can access it whenever and wherever you need. If you create a good set of searches, you can even access it very quickly, even during a meeting with a client or while you are on the phone. With all your data under the same roof, you can rest assured that your data is safe and accessible.

Managing your business data saves you money

Money is as important as time, right?

The cost of the lost lead

How much cost a lead? It could be the price of the networking event ticket you attended and where you met that lead. It can also be the hard dollars straight out of your bank account you used to buy leads or telemarketing. These don’t come out cheap so you want to take good care of your leads.

How many times should you call a lead before calling quits? A quick tour of the articles available on line leads me to say that the magic number could be six. Six?!? Will you remember to follow up on each of the leads and will you remember each call you made, each email you sent? Most likely not if you are not using the right tool to do it. An online database software may just be the tool you need!

A boost in efficiency

Adopting our online database software definitely boosted my productivity and efficiency. The first thing I do in the morning (even before coffee!) is to open my inbox and my Kohezion account. In just a few clicks, I can see what my day looks like and I can organize my tasks to make sure everything gets done.

Now ask me if I would go back to my paper organizer and my sticky notes system… NEVER!
