Values

A while ago, I suggested a simple exercise to Thierry. I found a list of quite a few hundreds values and asked him to choose the ones representing him both personally and on a business point of view. I did the same on my side. That simple exercise turned out to be a bit more complicated than we expected. Thierry ended up with a list of 69 and I ended up with a list of 44 values. We were supposed to be able to narrow our list to 10 to 15 each but never could. How could you cut values like sharing, health, excellence or efficiency? We just couldn’t. I’m not sure what it means about us. I think we may lean a bit on the perfectionists side but you know, I prefer to think that we’re open to grow and learn.

Here is a cloud of the 103 values we’re cherishing.

Circle of values

I mixed up both our values in one words cloud. I wanted to represent that the sum of two people’s minds equals more than the sum of the two individuals thinking individually.

1 + 1 = 3

I think it is primordial for every individual and business to be aware of their values. Just as your application is the blueprint for your project, your values are the blueprint for your career or business. Do you know who you are and what you want? What kind of person would you like to become? What do you want your business to be recognized for?
