The art of linking your apps

Contact

Item linking

One of Kohezion’s great features is the possibility to link different items together. It allows you to know exactly what has been done for whom. Link tasks, emails, meetings or calls to your contacts or contracts and service requests to your customers. All you have to do is to add an item link field in the applications you want to link to the main one. In this example, I added a contact link field in the task, email and call applications.

How-to

When you are ready to link an item to another, click the link icon in the proper contact item.

Link

Select the project for which you want to link an item. In this example, I selected a task.

Add linked item

You now have two choices. First, you can create a new task to be linked to the contact and fill in the task information.

New or existing

New

Your second choice is to link an existing task. The wizard will help you in selecting the right one. You can create a search to find it, simply select the criteria that apply to the item you are looking for. In my case, I was searching for a task that contains the word «write».

The wizard returned a list of six tasks to choose from. I selected the first one.

That’s it! My task is now linked to my Kohezion contact. And when I want to refer back to all the tasks, calls and emails related to this specific client, I can consult a list of them organized in grids under the contact links tab. Isn’t it neat?

This is a feature I use every single day. It helps me to keep track of what I do for each client and prospect. No more paper, no more forgetting. Paired with my near obsessive use of the reminders, my system allows me not to miss a thing. What are the applications you need to link to boost your efficiency and productivity?
